Assemblies at Ivy Bank
Every day we gather by whole school, by year group or as a class for an assembly which includes an act of worship; an assembly can be a gathering without spiritual or religious content.
At Ivy Bank, assemblies will include some or all of the following:
- an opportunity to reflect on our aims and values;
- a chance to consider aspects of human life and the natural world;
- time to worship, pray or reflect and we aim to foster and explore sensitivity and respect to the beliefs of Christianity and other religions.
We have a range of assembly themes; see our programme below. Over the week we cover:
Monday Message - the theme of our week
Tune for Tuesday - we listen and respond to difference musical genres and messages through song
Wellbeing Wednesday - our mid-week assembly on Jigsaw
Thursday Thoughts - consider PSHE, Citizenship and offer our children the opportunity to prepare and deliver an assembly; families of the performing children are invited to join us.
Friday Fest! - our celebration assembly sharing achievements
Occasionally, visitors are invited for assembly such as the PCSO or guest speakers. If you do not wish your child to take part in the daily collective worship, please contact the headteacher, Mrs Sarah Gill
